More Snew

Well its snowing again. Forcasted for a few more days. It gets me thinking about warm weather food. You know the kids that you think of when you think winter. The kinds you like to have done piping hot when your husband comes in the door. The kinds that you have ready after sledding or chopping firewood or just being outside.

For me, Tonight its spegetti with meatsause and garlic bread. There are lots of others i enjoy to make on cold days. Chicken or Turkey soup, with dumplings or busicuts. Chili, or chicken with noodles. MMM good food.

What are some of your fav cold weather meals. Share recipies if you want, i love to cook!

  1. I came here via your OD! 🙂

    Turkey Tetrazzini
1 2-3 lb. frozen turkey breast (Butterball makes a good one)
    1 chicken bouillon cube
    1 tsp. poultry seasoning
    1 15-oz. can of chicken broth + 1 15-oz. can of water
    1 4-oz. can of mushrooms
1 10-oz. can cream of mushroom soup
8 oz. shredded cheddar cheese, divided
    1/2 lb. spaghetti noodles, cooked
2 cups reserved chicken broth (from CrockPot)

Put the turkey, bouillon cube, poultry seasoning, chicken broth, and water in the CrockPot. Let cook on Low for 7- 8 hours, turning every few hours, until turkey is tender and “falls apart.” Turn off the CrockPot and remove the turkey to a bowl. SAVE the broth!

Cook the spaghetti noodles until al dente. In a large saucepan, combine the mushrooms, cream of mushroom soup, and half the cheese. Cook until melted. Add spaghetti noodles and enough reserved broth to make the sauce “sloppy.”

Shred the turkey and add it to the sauce. Stir well. Pour into a 4-quart casserole dish. Add the rest of the cheese on top. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes.
