Earth Hour 2009

Between 8:30 and 9:30 PM local time March 28th (tonight and from where ever you live on planet earth) our light switches will become our vote!

Those in favor of EARTH can “VOTE EARTH” by turning all the lights off for just one hour. VOTE EARTH 2009 is hoped to reach a target of 1 billion votes, which will be presented to world leaders at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009.

This meeting will determine official government policies to take action against global warming, which will replace the Kyoto Protocol. It is the chance for the people of the world to let their voices be heard.

Landmarks such as San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square, Eiffel Tower in Paris, the St. Louis Gateway Arch, the Sydney Opera House, the Sears Tower in Chicago, Seattle’s Space Needle, the Great Pyramids and Sphinx in Egypt, and Broadway theater marquees in New York City will be dark.

Even the flashy Las Vegas Strip will turn dark for an hour. Of course, the slot machines inside casinos will stay on, but almost all of the buildings and marquees on the Strip itself will be dark during Earth Hour and for the first time ever, the “Welcome to Vegas” sign will be turned off.

* we will be participating, i hope you will too!* Google it, there is tons of information on how turning your lights off an hour a day can save SOOO much energy and help the earth just a bit more. We all need that. Its the only Earth we have.

And then of course i had to debate… well its so PINK… i dont have any girls. I compromised, i redid my personal blog using her amazing kit ( hehe yeah im a cheater) and then decided to make a quick layout using the boys. Hopefully they wont hate me for it when they are older.

Fairy Tale Wedding

Deanna Jones at flowerscraps has an AMAZING freebie kit going out right now called Fairy Tale Wedding.

Its super pretty, in blues and greens.

Now i didnt have a wedding, nor do i have any formal photos ( that arent from me in HS and looking anorexic lol) so i just used it to scrap some photos of my boys. Who else.

I know there was a third, but its escaping me right now, so just two will have to do. I stuck with the greens but the kit comes with beautiful blues and lavenders and an Alpha. ALL for FREE on her blog. So head over and snatch up her great kit while you can!

Eruption

Mounr Redoubt erupted at 10 30 on the 23rd.
The ash cloud is headed to my town and we expect some light ash fall by 4 am.
Its not too bad really. The volcano can go again of course, but the eruptions we have had from it, arent so bad. The ash cloud is only at 50,00 feet. They havent closed the airport yet so who knows lol. So far, it just went off. Ill probably know more by morning, as its 1 am now lol.

Its Baby-X

So here is the skinny on the baby.

When we went in for the Us, the tech looked at that last. She said it was a boy. The baby had something sticking out in the general area. But it had three lines, JUST like a girl, in fact, if it had been a centemeter farther back, it would be a girl US photo.  Anyway i left the US place in compleate misery. You cant even begin to imagine how sad i was. I was trying to hold i together in the car, my parents took me because T was at work.  Anyway i got hom and made a very tearful call to my husband telling him it was a boy.

Then i got online and updated my private journal ( you know the kind, the daily nitty gritty stuff) and EVERY comment was, ummm thats not a penis, those be girly bits. You understand i can get upwords of 50 comments on a single entry, and here i am getting bombed with my friends, some of which ive known for 5 or more years, teling me, that this US is NOT of a penis. And i start thinking. I pull out the boys videos and watch them . In both you can consistantly see a penis and a scrotum.  So it really gets me thinking. What if the tech was wrong?

So a few people online tell me about this website/forum. A lady runs it who is an US tech. And the ladies there are VERY good at guessing gender. And the US tech weighs in as well. So i posted my photos there and got an overwhelming number of votes as to that is the cord, not a penis or labia.  The US tech is very pregnant and she only makes a few threads a night. Most people are posting US photos from 12-15 weeks. but im waiting my turn.  She will eventually get to my photo.  Right now ive hada few votes for a girl, 2 for a boy and 90% saying its the cord between the babys legs.

God im wishing its the cord. Because then, it means there is still a chance. But in any event. Im sitting on the confused route at the moment. Im not sure what im looking at, because well.. it dosent look like my previous US’s with boys. So im sitting confused and waiting. I probably wont get another ultrasound before delivery. But there is always a chance i can get a 3 D one if i can find a place that isnt too expensive when im in my mid 30 weeks. So we will see lol.

Anyway i better go, im prepping dinner and i need to edit some of the baby ultrasound photos i took ( with my camera) so that i can share them.

Solitude QP Freebie and kit preview

Jodi Watson has this beautiful new kit in greens and purples called Solitude. Seeing it made me think of some of my fav nature photographs ive taken over the years. it was hard to pick just two, i  think i pulled about 15 into a folder hehe. But here are two of some of my fav photos and made 2 pages. And a lovely quick page for anyone who would like it.

This budding Lupin is one of my most favorite photos. Taken just last year in early spring, it shows the promice of good weather, summer fun, and simplistic beauty. It makes me crave spring ( which sadly is still a month to two months away for me)

Another one of my fav photos. This is a moth, taken on a kodak point and shoot 4 years ago.  This  thing was lightning fast and never stayed still for more then a split second. you cant even imagine how HARD it was to take photos of him. But wow, what a beautiful little creature. It was probably an inch or so long and hovered in my mothers pansy bed for about a week.  To this day, i love this photo of this little critter.

As you can see, this kit is so pretty, and i love her new abstract style flower that is in it! Seriously gonna have to use that in other pages hehe. Finally

I am FINALLY getting over this cold/chest crud/ sinus infection. It took almost 3 weeks to get this one out of my system. Thank heavens its moving on out though. I can now lay down without coughing. YAY

Sick and a baby update

Oh im still sick, i have a massive sinus infection and a cough in my chest. I finally got some good medicationfor the cough though, and im hoping it helps move the sinus infection out as well. I havent had much sleep thanks to coughing at night, so im hoping this new medication helps that too. Maybe ill get better soon. And build up something of an immune system sometime soon.

Good news is i put on some weight finally. Im hungry all the time and i eat a ton of fruit. So that is good news.

Baby is doing great, HB is again, 140.

But the best news of all.

our Ultrasound is schedualed for early next week. We get to see our baby and find out if its a boy or girl. We are so excited ( by we, i mean me, lol) and cant wait!!!
