Hes not even up. A phone call woke me kinda early. But im up. And my baby is 4 today. He is so… grown up. Sigh. Makes me sad and happy all at the same time. 4 years ago he was born. 10 lbs even, 23 inches long. He was a bald little red baby. He held his head up right away and even rolled himself over in the delivery room. He was perfect my little boy.
Since then he has grown like a weed. Taller then all the other kids his age he is all boy. He loves to run, fish, hike and be outside in general. Even if its just watering his grammys gardens. He is such a boy. HE spends so much time with his grandparents, its a second home to him. But he always comes back with just a hint to play with the neighbors 4 year old. His friend.
Its hard to think of this cute little guy as a big boy. Because in so many ways, i look at him and still see that cute little babys face. Sometimes he runs up to me and cuddles me great big because he just wants a hug. Then when he is bringing me things, anything i ask for, i just melt because he is so grown up. Lisnting to him talk, you wouldent guess that he only turned 4 today. He talkes like you wouldent believe. The words he says, the things he talks about, and with such clarity! What 4 year old, Bearly 4 mind you! explains to grown ups how and why earthquakes happen? This one does!
Last year brought a huge change in his life. The birth of his little brother. Some people expect a spoild only child to react… well negativly to the little invader. But not my little man. He is the best big brother. He keeps Conner out of danger, plays with him, cuddles him, wants to feed him, give him baths. I think i lucked out with him being the perfect baby and now such a wonderful big brother. Am i in trouble for his teen years?
So here is my great big 4 year old boy. So grown up, its happening so fast and i just cant believe that it has been 4 years with my little man allready.
So Happy birthday, my little man. I love you so much and you are SO big. I cant wait to see what you have in store for me later on in life!
