Farewell to Summer

As the final green leaves change to a golden brown. I take a moment to pause and remember the beauty of the summer past. A few Alaskan wildflowers for you to enjoy. By no means the best, But a pleasent reminder that beauty is within the simple things we see every day. From a bee on a dandilion to the miniscule dogwood that you never seem to notice.

Serene Scenery

My photography focus is landscape for the most part. My children of course, but scenery.. landscape its what i do best.
So here are some shots of some beautiful Alaskan Scenery.

There was a huge earthquake in 1964 that devistated Alaska. It destroyed citys, towns, caused tsunamis ect. Here are two pictures of what the earthquake did.

First is a house that was once part of a town, its now preserved.

And this picture is a tree that died when the earthquake hit. The tree is still standing… but its gone.

This tree was growing out of rocks. Its roots totally exposed.

I love the feel of this picture. Magical

Thi windmill was… well it just attracted my attention big time. Whats fun about it, is that there is a massive glacier in the background!

More Alaskan Bears

Of Belugas and Bears

First we shall visit upon us, the Belugas.

Now The Cook Inlet Beluga whales are actually about to enter the endangered species. There are less then 300 Cook Inlet Belugas ( yes that is their species and class) left in the world. So in a way the few pictures ive managed to collect are precious. Sadly they dont come out of the water like other whales, they peak out just their backs, once in a grand while a head or tail, while feeding on salmon in shallow water. So the bits i have are their backs.

This one is even more special. There is a mama ( white) and baby to the left of the photo ( grey)

And for fun. What a Beluga looks like, the face. The statues are made of stone. Thease were taken for fun.
